I'm not sure what is better the food or the owner. Uncle Thurm is always so warm and welcoming. Every time I've eaten here he has made my family and I feel special. He takes the time to get to know the customers, as well as the kids at the local high school across the street.
The food: Literally my only complaint is that I have a hard time deciding what to order; so many delicious entrees. Today I had the chicken strips and fries and it easily could have fed two people the serving size is that generous.
Exceptional value!!!

I changed my mind! After going to both spots many times, IMO this food is better and less expensive than Southern Kitchen with more of a neighborhood feel and amazing friendlyservice. Try all the sides! I come here as often as possible to eat in or take out!

Meledy Sampler.. catfish, chicken, green, mac-cheese, yams, red beans and rice. The second dish was the seafood gumbo. The food was great and the owner has an Awesome personality!! We will definitely be back there if we are ever in the area.

So I like that this is a mom and pop place. The fried chicken, fried fish and greens were great but the rest of the food I tried (mac n cheese, beans and rice, corn bread) were not good and I mean NOT GOOD. The iced tea tasted like old lemonade-I was so confused; Like the ice in the ice machine was old or something. The decor is also sub par, it smells stale and it's super cluttered with old furniture. Like literally a deep clean, fresh paint and new tables and chairs, would change everything. It was just not great aside from those three items that were super tasty.
